The following is from Pam's House Blend blog post on a priest performing an exorcism (cuz that's real), inappropriately on multiple levels. Please read Pam's post for the scoop.

Here I'd like to have a look at a segment of the good reverends public apology.
"...I am saddened beyond words for my fall, not only because of the harm done to my priesthood and my family, but also because of the harm done to all others who are affected..." -- Rev. Thomas Euteneuer, the former head of Human Life International Inc.
I think the remorse issued here is in the wrong order. Perhaps feeling saddened for the harm done to others should be considered before his career and familial shaming. Just a thought.

The following is a statement issued from Human Life International Inc.
“Charity and respect for the truth should dictate the response to every request for information or communication. The good and safety of others, respect for privacy, and the common good are sufficient reasons for being silent about what ought not be known or for making use of a discreet language. The duty to avoid scandal often commands strict discretion. No one is bound to reveal the truth to someone who does not have the right to know it.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2489. Emphasis in the original.)" --HLI
Oh, so who decides who has the right to know the truth? The Church? Human Life International Inc.? Hmmm, not winning any points here.  First a church with an Inc. doesn't imbue me with loving kindness, compassion and understanding, at first glance it says to me, we're in this for capital gain (even if that is a limited understanding of an inc.), and we're not even pretending to be a legitimate religious foundation of any kind.  Second, the nature of said incorporation is pro-life, or anti-choice... I guess which you use depends on which side of that argument you're on.  I'm pro-choice (which doesn't eliminate the life part of the choice). This is an organization who promoted the idea that female sterilization is a conspiracy of "population controllers" performing sterilization operations on women unbeknownst to the recipient. Having had a tubal ligation, I don't think anybody could have snuck up on me and performed surgery without my awareness of it. HLI is also promoting the idea that Depo-Provera is not birth control but and ant-conception drug that causes abortion. Confused? Here's their  number one talking point on depo:
Depo-Provera has both contraceptive and abortifacient effects:  The Depo-Provera injection, given to women and girls every three months as a contraceptive, actually causes abortion in some instances.  Depo-Provera is a type of hormonal anti-fertility drug, and works in one of two ways: by preventing conception and thus having a contraceptive effect, or by preventing the implantation of an already conceived child and thus ending the life of a new human being after conception.  [emphasis is mine]
It does not take deep research to learn how Depo-Provera works, wiki states that it's progesterone; according to the National Library of Medicine, depo (progesterone) prevents ovulation and therefore pregnancy.  If one is not ovulating, then fertilization is not occurring and therefore no zygote to implant in the uterus. Duh.

Awesome organization - performing sexual assault disguised as exorcisms, apologies and remorse issued for self first, victim second, that decides who needs to know the truth while they blatantly tout disinformation regarding reproductive health options.

The lady who was sexually assaulted is suing for damages, I hope she cleans their clocks.
